Emberfall Saga

Emberfall Saga gives you a small band of heroes and a big grim world to poke at. Combat is turn-based on a grid, so positioning matters as much as raw damage. Flank an enemy and you punish it; get surrounded and you're the one paying.

The story surprised me. Choices you make early on close off options later, and the game doesn't hand-hold you back onto the golden path. My mage decision in chapter two haunted me for the rest of the run.

It's a big game for a phone, but it saves generously and loads fast, so short sessions never feel wasteful.
